The Great Falling Away

2 Thessalonians 2

3Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,  4who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.

Someone said to me the other day that the spirit of this age is to FIGHT.  It's an age of fighting, a spirit of anger and frustration that boils over into action, like those occupying Wall Street.  Now, I know that corporate America and banking in general has been about profits but that is what motivates capitalism.  It seeks to make a profit on investments, either your own, or the collective money of others call stock holders. Is capitalism the best system to have as an economic system?  Probably not, but it still beats socialism or communism. The idea that everything is shared, or governed by the state is not a good system either, because those in control of the system are those who do well, while the rest of society suffers at the lack of motivation to achieve through private enterprise.  Russia and Europe are great examples of failed economies of a welfare mentality that does more harm to a society than helps.  There is no perfect system, but like religion, whose system is better than anyone else's?  There are flaws in everything human beings touch, and there are no exceptions.

The great warning in 2 Thessalonians is clear, the last days will drive people to abandon their faith, or fall away, and the man of perdition, or lawless one will be revealed.  First of all the term lawless has more to do with God's law, not mans.  This person will be a person who is totally secular and socialistic in practice.  He will secure the allegiance of countries by being able to convince them of a better system of economic control.

Now I have written before on this lawless one, but today I am more concerned about the falling away. It is clear to me that God is telling His Church to prepare. It is a message that is not easily transmitted into a clear plan for most people because they don't know what to prepare for.  You can save all you money only to discover none of it is worth anything, or you can stock pile food, only to realize it probably will spoil before you get to using it.  You can also stock pile weapons to defend yourself, only to discover that many of your enemies will be those of your own household.  So what kind of preparing are we to do?

Study God's Word, be ready for the spirit of this age whose bating us to fight, to get angry, to join the crowd of disenfranchised people who want to storm the Wall Streets of the world to take their fair share. We are being courted to a final show down of good and evil, and today the confusion is already begun calling evil good and good evil.  Without a source of discernment, you will begin to believe what is told you over the air waves or on the internet. You will never see the true story unveiling before your eyes, because it's too obscured with the lies of the evil one.  Not long ago a man by the name of Bernie Madoff conned people for over 30 years by doing a ponzi scheme that fooled even those in high finanical institutions.  Well, we have a spiritual ponzi scheme going on in our world today, and many believers are being fooled.

That's why I have said repeatedly, "prepare yourself and your family" on what the scripture teaches will take place in the last days. The spiritual ponzi scheme is real, and many are following it's course which will lead to disaster. Ponzi schemes are not new...Jesus knew about them, He said:

Matthew 7:13-14

13“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.  14For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

Keeping it honest and truthful....K
