Who Can You Really Trust?

As believers we all have our favorite preachers.  If you have been reading this blog for the past week you will notice that I have used a lot of web links to David Wilkerson.  Yes, I like David, because as a preacher he is not persuaded by money, denomination, powerful people, nor is he trying to sell his latest book.  I am personally tired of all the personal words Christians say they get from God. All I can say is most of it is a spiritual scam.  You may disagree, but here is a clip you need to watch before you read on.

Personally I have known believers who have gone crazy over preachers, or prophets who give prophecies that are not in line with the Spirit of God.  Does God still speak to us today? Yes, He does, but knowing His voice is a part of knowing Him. His Word is His voice, a revelation to us about who He is, what He has done, and what He plans to do.

The example of Benny Hinn is not new. In Jeremiah's day he was facing the same kind of leadership, pastors who have no clue who God is, preaching things not based upon the truth of God's word. Leaders who lead people to an unknown spiritual destination, and prophets who give prophecies based upon a concept of manipulation rather than the instruction of God's Word.

Jeremiah 2:8

 8The priests did not say, ‘Where is the LORD?’
Those who handle the law did not know me;
the shepherds transgressed against me;
the prophets prophesied by Baal
and went after things that do not profit.

Don't be fooled by leaders who don't formulate their ministry around the truth of God's Word. There are many theologies that are preached today, even in good churches that are not following the dictates of God's word.  More on this next week, until then, keep it honest and truthful........k
