Religion Is the New Cold War
When I was growing up it was the cold war of government ideologies that were at the core of most struggles in the world. Today it's all about religion. This is what the Bible predicted, that the end of days will end with war about belief, and world views. The latest news in air travel is about Jews who can't fly into a country because of their religion. Jews and Israelis, or passengers carrying any non-Islamic article of faith, will not be able to fly code-share flights from the US to Saudi Arabia under Delta Air Line's new partnership with Saudi Arabian Airlines that is set to begin in 2012. Earlier this year Delta announced it had struck a deal with the Saudi Arabian airline to join its “SkyTeam” network in 2012 but the details of the deal's implications have only recently been revealed. The kingdom has strict rules for entry. It prohibits anyone with an Israeli stamp in their passport from entering the country, even in transit.
I have often questioned any religious group, cult or world religion, that is so afraid that their belief structure might be challenged and exposed for fraud, that they impose a form of martial law. Cults are notorious for keeping their followers away from family members for fear that their beliefs might not with stand the pressure of outsiders. World religions practice the same kind of tactics as illustrated in the Delta piece above. Truth will always stand the test of outside influences, truth may come under assault, but it never runs and hides itself. This is why the Church must be able to stand it's ground in defending what it believes, and allow access of what we believe to be tested by non-believers. As Christians we have nothing to run away or hide from, our belief that the Bible is the truth of God is an open invitation for anyone to investigate the claims the Bible makes about God, and the Savior of the world Jesus Christ. As followers of Christ we are always in an ideological war struggling against our culture for the minds and hearts of this generation. Our methods of presentation are not always as up to date as they should be, but our message is always relevant to those with open minds. However the pressure has affected some in the Church, and they have attempted to fit in to the culture by compromising the message. However, there are many who are not willing to compromise and they will do what it takes to make our message of Christ relevant and truthful to this generation. Neithertheless, the new cold war is being fought today and it is about beliefs. This ideological war will permeate the global community and eventually bring on the wars the Bible predicts will happen. These will be wars of belief, the truth of God vs the deception of the world systems of false gods. Now is the time to study the Bible, prepare yourself and your family on the truth of the scriptures.
Bob Dylan was raised in a Jewish home in Hibbing Minnesota, and become a musical icon in the early 60's and 70's and continues to have a world wide following. Bob's life has been a roller coaster of beliefs, and illustrates how this war of ideology can affect what we believe. I think you will enjoy this video link from a media group from Israel on the life of Bob Dylan.
Keeping it honest and truthfull....K
