Living in Isolation

I am always amazed at the indifference many Christians show prophecy, and the Biblical mandates for a future reign of a King from Jerusalem.  There are pockets of people of course who will resinate with you on many areas of moral lifestyles, but it's unusal for people to talk about prophecy, especially if it includes Israel.  I know I have a bent in this direction, because my Strengths Finder evaluation of my gifts draws me to  "the context for everything" category.  Context for me, is like clarity is to talk show host Dennis Prager, who says, "clarity is everything."  Well, he is  right you know, but so am I.  "Context is everything," because without a reference point to the original intent, it's harder to know where you are going.

I think that is what happens to modern interpretations of scripture. If we have little to no regard for Israel, nor do we have a historical Hebriac Root viewpoint, scripture can be interpreted as being written just to us in the church.  In fact the majority of scripture was written by the Jews for the Jews. I think this is significant, not that we as gentiles are secondary participants in God's redemptive story, it means that the context to the written words have Jewish cultural and historical connections that clarify the heart of God's Law and Grace.

Let's look at this for a moment to see what I am saying to you has any merit.

God choose a people:  Abraham in Genesis 12

God gives this people a homeland: Genesis 17

God gives this people a Law: Exodus 20

God gives this people feasts of celebration Leviticus 23

God gives this people the covenants of promise through the Mosaic, Davidic, and Jeremiah covenants

God gives this people prophets to guide them in those covenants: Moses, Samuel, Isaiah, Jeremiah etc

God gives this people a New Covenant of Jeremiah 31:31-34 which is the promise of Messiah/Holy Spirit

God gives this people a visitation of a Savior, Yeshua/jesus who died to save humanity from the wrath of God

God gives this people additional instructions on how to live by faith through Jewish writers of the New Testament.

God gives this people a ruler, who will reign the earth from Jerusalem who will be King of the Jews, Savior of the world.

Now, as you read that list of events you quickly see how Jewish this Gospel really is, and if we ignore the context we will not be clear on God's plan as we move forward into the last days.  You can also see why Paul the Apostle said in Romans 1:16 aaid:  "It is to the Jews first, and then to the gentiles."

So context is important, and that is why we are so excited about a conference coming to the Twin Cities this fall to Bloomington Minnesota, October 13-15. The "Reconnecting the Branches to the Root" conference will be held at St Michaels Lutheran Church 9201 Normandale Blvd and it will feature some of the most prolific speakers and authors on this theme today.

This is a free conference, but we need you to register on line at www.hebraicrootsconference. com

The registration only assures you of a spot at this conference and nothing more. So go on line and resgister today, the space is limited and is going fast.

So for registration, or for more information go to that web address. And please pass this web address on to your pastor, church and small group friends, so they too can be blessed by this outstanding conference.

Keeping it honest and truthful.....K
