Boldness, Keeping The Message Front and Center
The early church kept the message of the gospel as the main thing. They had their sruggles I am sure with the the culture of their day, much like we have today. However they didn't water down their message to fit everyone's liking. They prayed to God that He would make them bolder, and stronger as they present the gosepl to the world they lived in.
Acts 4:29-3129And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, 30while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” 31And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness. What a great prayer, its a prayer for bold proclaimation of the gospel. In these last days we need people who are not afraid of culture, but engage it directly with the hope we have in Jesus Christ. As believers, we have nothing to be ashamed of, we have the message that overcomes all that life can throw at us including death. How much better does it get than that? It doesn't, we have such a great hope and assurance of the power of God through the message we have been given to share. Our prayer must echo that prayer that was prayed in the first century, "Lord grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness." With so much turmoil in the world, we have many opportunities to talk about these issues in light of what the scripture teaches.
All these and many more topics are in the news everyday. We need to ask God to help us be bold in proclaiming that all of these issues have been foreseen, and documented in scripture. Let's pray for God to break any slience we have have had and be bold in proclaiming what God has placed in our hearts. "Lord, make our lives a living testimony for you, and your word. May we be a strong advocate for you in every area of our lives, starting with our families." Amen. Keeping it honest and truthful.
