Dear Liberal Friend,
First of all I do not hate you, nor do I think you are evil. I do however sense that you don't feel the same way about me. There are times that I try to bring myself to seeing your point of view, and if I had only a humanist concern perhaps your worldview would work. However, I see life through the prism of scripture and I can not bring myself to your conclusions. With that being said, that doesn't mean I hate you, nor that you should be imprisoned, or killed. Sometimes I think your side of the aisle thinks we conservatations are neo-nazi's that all we want is a world control by us. I can't speak for all conservations, but I can speak for myself. My first and foremost mission in life is Matthew 28:19 where Jesus tells His followers to go into the world and make disciples. That means that my first calling is to present to you the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is found in this simple verse:
John 3:1616“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." Nothing in that verse says anything about politics, economics, or even religion. It is a simple promise, that if you believe in Jesus Christ you will have eternal life. Now that is not a conservative or liberal idea, it's God's offer to you. His offer is made to everyone, and there are no exceptions to this promise. When you define what beiieving in Jesus Christ means, it implies that His atoning work on the cross was for your sin and mine, and that was the penalty paid for His promise to valid. So when people engage me on any topic or issue, my main concern is not my opinion about anything, but my it starting point in life begins with John 3:16 and it finishes with Revelation 20:11
When you read these verses you can't help but feel sorry for those whose name was missing from the Lamb's book of life. This is the foundation for going into all the world and sharing the gospel. When one accepts the gospel of Jesus Christ, their name is written down, and they will not have to face this sobering eternal moment. They are secure in Christ, and He has rescued them from this judgement scene. So, when you understand that my point of view isn't just about moral issues, or a conservative agenda, it's about this judgement day that all those without Christ will have to face. I don't want you to face this judgement and be cast into the lake of fire forever. Even if you don't believe in this, what would you do if it were true? My job is not to destroy you, or defeat you, my job is to influence you to consider how the love of God purposed His life on a cross that you would never have to face a judgement day like it is describeed in the Book of Revelation. Can you see why I am intense about what I believe? I pray you will consider God's offer, and we can debate our politics on another day. Keeping it honest and truthful....K |
