Israel Is Back In the News

Hosea 14:4-7

4I will heal their apostasy;
I will love them freely,
for my anger has turned from them.
  will be like the dew to Israel;
he shall blossom like the lily;
he shall take root like the trees of Lebanon;
 6his shoots shall spread out;
his beauty shall be like the olive,
and his fragrance like Lebanon.
 7They shall return and dwell beneath my shadow;
they shall flourish like the grain;
they shall blossom like the vine;
their fame shall be like the wine of Lebanon.

From Fox News this morning:

Abbas has threatened to bring his statehood push before the U.N. Security Council. The U.S. plans to veto the measure but would rather not get to that point, as the veto could further hurt U.S. standing in the Middle East. Still, Abbas could take the proposal straight to the General Assembly, where the Palestinians are seen as having the support to win what amounts to a symbolic recognition of statehood and slightly elevated status within the United Nations.

Somewhow the Palestinian State will be the reason all nations will eventually come against Israel. I don't believe Israel will give up any land or divide it's present borders to make a Palestianian State, so the nations will try to force Israel to make concessions.  Eventually,  Israel will have to face the world alone, and that determination will allow God to come to her rescue once again.  The prophet Hosea in the verse mentioned above shows a side of God where He is mericful to Israel, and will forgive and restore her to be a fragrance and beauty of her original state.  Out of the dry desert will bloom the prosperity of God. Another prophet Amos tells us that once Israel comes back to the land, she will be blessed, and never again be removed.

Amos 9:14-15

14 I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel,
and they shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them;
ithey shall plant vineyards and drink their wine,
and they shall make gardens and eat their fruit.
 15 I will plant them on their land,
and they shall never again be uprooted
out of the land lthat I have given them,”
says the LORD your God.

The faithfulness of God to Israel reminds all of us that there is a God of Israel who promised to Abramham 4000 years or more ago that the blessings of God would flow from God's covenant with Abraham to the entire world.  The blessings from that covenant provided us with a Savior who took away the sins of the world, and by doing so blessed the whole world. In history, any nation, or people group who have come against the Jews have all been judged by God, and those who have stood their ground in defending Israel have been blessed. My prayer is that the United States will not for political or any other reason decide to throw the Jews under the bus for the sake of a Palistinian State.  This will not invoke the blessing of God upon our country.

For any of you who are prophecy watchers, be mindful of one thing, Israel is the key player in the prophetic literature found in the scriptures.  Do not dismiss Israel or believe the church has replaced Israel in any way. Many of the prophetic promises made in the Bible were made strictly with His covenant people the Jews, and not the church.  Replacement theology is a curse, and anyone who promotes this kind of thinking has major conflicts with what the scriptures teach. Beware if your church teachs Replacement Theology, and you should become familiar with what is teaches, and confront this heresy in your church if you find it being taught there.   There are many explanations, I have provided a link for one site that will start your investigation on this theme.
