The Monument and the Nation Cracked.
The Washington monument is broken? Well mother nature delivered a blow to the East coast in August, and it did a number on this historical landmark. The Washington Post writes:
"Eighty one percent of us disapprove of how government is going, we reach the brink of another shutdown, and now the Washington Monument is closed and broken?
If this were fiction, this is the part that my editor would circle angrily and write, "This is overkill."
“The Washington Monument is cracked, proving even Mother Nature can't resist a good metaphor,” comedian Aparna Nancherla joked on Twitter after the earthquake.
Not only is it cracked, it might be broken."
Ron a friend of mine called me with all the scripture verses listed on the monument as a reminder to Americans that this country once had a faith in God. The Washington Post is right, 81% of us do not agree with the government and it's direction. This administration is filled with people with an agenda, and we have a president who continues to get us further from the truth. God will not be mocked, and what was inscriped on the Washinginton monument from scripture was a source from which this country was founded.
Consider these verses inscribed upon the monument: "Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not; for such is the Kingdom of God (Luke 18:16)," "Search the Scriptures (John 5:39; Acts 17:11)," and "Holiness unto the Lord (Exodus 28:36); 39:30; Zechariah 14:20).".
These are great reminders from Scripture about God, and a testimony against those now in government whose agenda it is to defy Him by purposely taking this nation down a path away from His truth. You can not be immoral and approve homosexual license to marry, and to serve openly in the military with a stamp of approval and go unnoticed by God. You can not approve of dividing up the land of Israel to develop a Palistinian state, and not be judged by God. Our indebtedness and our immorally deprived society are only signs of something happening much deeper within the soul of a nation. We have lost our sense of who God is, and what God has called this nation to become, all of which is caused by our insistance on depriving God His rightful place at the seat of government in Washington D.C. We make laws and ignore His warnings against such behavior, thinking that in the interest of human rights and freedom we are doing what is best for the nation. No wisdom, no godly instruction, no spiritual discernment, all gone, and in their place, the wisdom of man.
It's no surprise that the Washington monument was damaged, and even broken as the Washington Post suggests, it's a symbol of what our country has become, damaged and broken.
Take God out of anything, and all you have left is a disaster waiting to happen. God is trying to get our attention whether you want to believe it or not. The scripture says the last days will be like the days of Noah and I bet that people thought that Noah and his boat building crew were nuts. Many in our world think Christians who believe that earthquakes damaging national monuments are signs of His displeasure are nuts too.
So be it. I am nuts, but just remember Noah who was considered nuts wasn't so nuts when it began to rain.
Keeping it honest and truthful...K
This photo suggests to me how to illustrate the wisdom of men.
