The Dribble

Dribble: A liquid that falls slowly in drops or a thin stream.

One of my friends recently used this word in reference to what is heard throughout the media world. It is a constant dribble of non-sense that has no significance other than fill our heads and minds with senseless facts about nothing.

I listen to politics, dribble, I listen to news stories, dribble, I listen to talk radio, dribble, and I listen to many Christian leaders, dribble.  Now again this may sound jaded, but stop and ask yourself, with all the information you pour into your life everyday, how much of it is building your mind and heart toward a healthy outlook and perspective on life?  I watch the news, it is mostly negative and depressing, presented in such a way that makes you feel your in control of what is going on in the world.  However, at the end of the day, is there any reason to believe that this information has done anything more than create a dribble in your life?

Ask yourself what is the most important information I can digest that will help me grow as a person with the wisdom and foreknowledge of life?  Can you honestly say anything that is created in this world can do that?

Deuteronomy 8:3

3And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.

Only God can feed you in a way that will not be sounding like dribble.  His spirit filled words have power to bring meaning, and healing to your life. You can surrender to the dribble around you, or you surrender to the words of life that come from an eternal source.  For me and my house, we surrender to what will last forever, the promises made to us by our faithful creator.  As I watch the dribble going on around me, it does not have an impact on my life. There is no fear, no doubts, and no uncertainty because the life I now live is lived with a different perspective that is built upon a world that is to come, and not the world of dribble that is here now.

Your choice, listen to the dribble that leads only to more dribble, or listen to the Word of God that leads to life. Become a student of the Word, and see how the fear, doubt, and uncertainty of the dribble around you will seem so foolish and irrelevant to your life.

Keeping it honest and truthful...K
