The Hypocrites are in Charge

John 8:7 They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, "All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!"

The allegations that former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore molested a 14-year-old when he was in his thirties came to light only 4-1/2 weeks before the election. Really? Now politicians and journalists must think the American public is stupid, and if they believe this hogwash then they are stupid. We know the American public has some serious issues with being informed because they only way they get their knowledge is the Internet. I remember news reports telling people how dangerous Israel was just before my first visit there in 2007.  When I got to Israel I found the exact opposite, in fact, I discovered I was safer there than in my hometown of Minneapolis.

This isn’t about justice; it is about dirty politics to ruin a man’s chance to further his ambitions or career. This is a liberal vs. conse
rvative issue and nothing more. However what we also have is the violation of the 9th commandment:

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor”

So we have two violations against God’s Word in this story.

No one is without sin, so why are we trying to accuse someone of something no one can prove that allegedly happened over forty years ago. Why wasn’t this an issue when the Judge was being appointed to the position of the Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court? He is controversial because he is a Christian and takes a stand for Biblical values, and because of it he is considered unacceptable as a representative for Government.

Secondly when we lie and make up false accusations to cast doubt upon a person, that is a direct violation of God’s commandment on how to treat other people. When a political opponent uses the tactic of lying in order to move their agenda forward, they are not worthy of even being in the game. In fact, these false accusations should be punishable by law and they should be prosecuted.

The laws in most states have provisions for slander or defamation of character.

There are the two main types of defamation cases: libel and slander. Both involve harmful, false statements that cause damage to someone’s reputation, but libel requires that the statement be in writing or somehow “published.” With slander, all that is required is that the defamatory statement be spoken to a third party (someone other than you).

These allegations need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law as an example so others are fully aware of the consequences before being used by a political entity to smear a candidate that is running for office.

Going back to the hypocrite status of trying to dig up dirt on people who have been faithfully serving the public for more than forty years, I would like to see this standard placed on every member of Congress. There are many people serving in high positions in our government that have some kind of allegation against their character. The Washington “swamp” is no different than what is happening in the Hollywood “swamp” of sexual indiscretions. Let’s find out how many Congress people have had an affair, or any sexual indiscretion during the course of their political career. Let’s be honest - any indiscretion is lying and cheating, and people don’t want things to be known because it shows how deviant their own character really is. So don’t go sanctimonious on us Washington by excoriating a man like Judge Moore because of allegations. Washington has had its own evil character issues for decades, yet America looks the other way. We have had immoral, deviant Presidents on both sides of the aisle, yet history forgets it’s fallen leaders.

The Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, so no one is exempt from sinful behavior. In fact, sinful behavior from Washington is what gave us Roe vs. Wade, a law that gives license to kill the unborn. America will be judged for violating the 6th commandment, thou shall not murder. That judgment is underway in America…but that is another blog. Legislators who do not have a conscience directed by God will give us laws and government policies that violate God’s principles. So yes, all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Judge Roy Moore may not be a perfect man, but he deserves more dignity than what he is getting from a proven record of being a man of convictions.

May God have mercy upon our hypocritical nation!

Keeping it honest and truthful….K
