Progressivism is probably the most dangerous threat to liberty, religion and conservatives in general. But I feel I need to define a few terms that I use today:

Progressivism: is the support for or advocacy of social reform. As a philosophy, it is based on the Idea of Progress, which asserts that advancements in science, technology, economic development, and social organization are vital to the improvement of the human condition.

Conditioning: to train or accustom (someone or something) to behave in a certain way or to accept certain circumstances.

Over the weekend I was engaged several times with people who have had a different point of view than I have concerning our country. Most of the conversations were with progressive millennials who grew up in a different period of time than I did. It was obvious that our ideas clashed on almost every aspect of politics, religion, and lifestyles. It was also obvious to me that they have been conditioned to believe in what they would call ‘progressive concepts’ that literally hate what most generations of Americans have believed in, have worked for most of their lives, and have fought and died to preserve our freedom.

For example, here is some of the conditioning being promoted in the attempt to change worldviews:

  1. It is immoral to be rich. Somehow your money was accumulated on the backs of poor people.
  2. Everyone should have health care even at the expense of making it a mandatory requirement of every citizen in the U.S.
  3. No one should be detained or refused entry into the United States for any reason. All people are equal in pursuing a better life for their families regardless of the threat their religion or ideology poses to the American way of life.
  4. No lifestyle is off limits. Everyone has the right to pursue happiness either in same sex relationships or multiple relationships, because the human experiment with sex should never be restricted.
  5. Nations should relax immigration laws and our goal should be to become a community of nations without borders to enhance all humans to a better life.
  6. Global warming is the problem of the industrial nations and they are responsible for endangering the planet. All nations should be required to lower greenhouse gas emissions and comply with a global treaty to enforce it.
  7. No group of people should be able to impose their morality, religion, or their worldview upon a society. Society should be a place of neutral influence where whatever a person wants to do is acceptable and worthy of consideration.

This whole idea of shared wealth, shared gender identity, shared bathrooms and dressing rooms, shared global economies, and shared hatred for conservative ideals is all about the power struggle for the control of the culture. However, I see these as only distractions, because by using the firestorms behind these issues it will keep you distracted from the most important decision in your life: “where are you going to spend eternity?”  I have noticed that these distractions have also filtered into the Church. For example, I watch for posts by Christian leaders on Facebook, but they never post anything about Christ. Their concern is not about a world dying without the knowledge of Christ, their concern is about who controls the political system of this world. We are talking about Christian leaders who would rather post things about how Trump is like the Antichrist and the need for the left to win back the control of the government. It has baffled me why many of these Christian leaders never post anything substantive about Christ,  their posts only bellyache about Trump or some administration policy. Trump is not the problem in America - to me he says things that are not politically correct and as a result the world implodes. We have been so conditioned by the political left in this country that any idea that stands against their hypocrisy is seen as racist. Ultimately the left looks for ways to make President Trump look stupid or inept as the President of the United States. It is a tactic of conditioning, a carry over from when they did the same thing to George W. Bush. When the left can’t find any dirt to fling against their opponents, they simply bully people into thinking that any support for such buffoonery means there is something wrong with you. It is all about conditioning.

Remember, we are not to be conditioned by this world.

Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.  Romans 12:1-2
