Is the Church Prepared?

Jeremiah 23:16 This is what the LORD Almighty says: “Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD.”

Matthew 24:24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

The COVID-19 pandemic is continuing to be a plague upon our land. It is the strangest era I have ever experienced in my lifetime. You don’t know whom to trust, and every day there are conflicting reports about masks, quarantining, and social distancing. There are statistics that don’t make sense, and careful analysis of what is being told to the public is that there is still danger in reopening up society. Deaths from this pandemic are way below a 1% level and yet it is treated as if we are all going to die if we don’t follow the rules to keep safe. Churches, along with small businesses, have been hardest hit by the quarantine while big box stores, liquor stores, construction, and other businesses deemed essential are all okay to be open to the public. It is not a logical season to say the least.

For me, the first indication that this pandemic is manufactured is the way the essential and non-essential businesses have been designated. Isn’t it interesting that construction companies were not required to halt construction, while Churches were asked not to meet in person? As I drive by large construction projects in downtown Minneapolis, I notice hundreds of construction workers all working in close proximity without masks and without any social distancing. A friend in Las Vegas informs me that during the shutdown of that city, the building of the new Raiders football stadium continued without missing a beat, but at the same time in Las Vegas there was an uptick in positive COVID-19 tests, so all the bars and lounges in that city had to close if they didn’t serve food. All the large casinos are okay to be open. Seriously, why is one establishment safer by serving food? You see, nothing makes sense. You can shop at Walmart, Target, and Home Depot, but you can’t really be safe in a sanctuary in person with other Worshippers. Then of course if you are a protestor, all COVID-19 precautions are up for grabs. (Don’t get me started on the officials saying it’s okay to protest without COVID-19 precautions.)

We now have encampments in our local city park where the homeless (questionable) are wearing few, if any, masks. You can congregate in an encampment without precautions, but Churches are still in various stages of trying to reopen.

All of these inconsistencies have made me a skeptic.

I think you sense my frustration over this era of misinformation, mass manipulation, and propaganda. You may have a different take on it, but I have remained skeptical since this virus hit the United States.

Again, unprepared and uninformed are the two operative words I would choose to define this pandemic. I am not blaming anyone, but our infectious disease people (whose job it is to track these outbreaks) were obviously asleep or not prepared. Our response is to shut everything down, hoping to curb the disease as it moved through the population. To date almost 4 million Americans have tested positive, and 143,000 people have died. This has happened to a nation of 327 million people. Pandemic? That’s .036 percent of those who tested positive have died. Out of 327 million people, 4 million have tested positive, that’s 0.01 per cent. Pandemic? Really? Who’s drinking this Kool-Aid?

This is why I say we are a society that is well educated but as dumb as rocks. I believe there is a virus, but there always is a virus. This one is different because it has a marketing team behind it to make it out to be something it is not. Prove me wrong.

Now, let’s get back to the Church. With all the arsenal of God’s Word and His Holy Spirit, the Churches have caved to the claims of the virus marketing team. Authorities have spoken the decree of closure and that’s the end of it. Churches decided to go online which was a nice alternative. However, for me, it’s not the virus that was the danger … it was the compliance to an unlawful abuse by Governors who said no to some and yes to others. What happens when the order comes down that no congregations can meet because they have not complied to agree with the Black Lives Matter agenda? You do know that silence is now defined as the new racism in America. What happens then to congregations? You want to meet as a congregation … then comply to our agenda or prepare to be burned.

You think I’m kidding? This is just the beginning of complying to the dictates of a secular world gone wild. As a pastor friend once said, “The American Church is too weak to resist, because it has no reason to do so.” We have not been telling people the Whole Truth in our Churches for decades. We avoid Prophecy, we avoid the reality of the Last Days being tumultuous, and we avoid the issues of deception, delusion, and false teaching in the Last Days. (Teaching that is safe is not teaching at all … it is an act of compromise.)

I will end with a question: “If we avoid the Whole Truth of what the Scripture Teaches, are we false teachers?” If all we talk about is love and fail to realize that Satan is an angel of love, and we have no discernment beyond this message of love, will we be deceived? It has been my conclusion for a very long time that we as Christians are as dumb as rocks. The marketing teams in our Churches today love to spin a story about God that is only partially true, and the other aspects of God are ignored. Sorry if that offends you, but it is True. We are no different than an army preparing for war that has no insight about the war, little knowledge of the enemy, and no arsenal to engage the enemy. So, let’s just comply and be safe, this too shall pass.

It’s time for a new reformation of heart and mind.
