Opinions … Everybody's Got One

I wake up every morning with an opinion. It’s usually about something I’d seen the day before, and I've had time to give it some thought and let it sink in. We all have opinions because that's what humans do … they give you their opinion. Some opinions have great wisdom, while others are silly and have no merit. Have you ever been at a gathering when a person in the gathering has a million opinions on almost every topic? It’s one thing for someone to say what they think about a subject, but when they insist that they are right, it gets uncomfortable. I’ve learned that opinions can be the one roadblock we all have that can keep us from understanding. To my way of thinking, understanding is the one goal we should all strive to achieve. However, gaining understanding doesn’t guarantee you will come to an agreement but in understanding, you can now act more compassionately toward those with whom you disagree. The Proverbs writer has the appropriate words when it comes to disagreements:

Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

This says to me that the differences in opinions can be the grinding wheel that takes all of us down to where truth is found. Opinions can be like a raw product that needs the refining of other opinions to temper its impact.

So, what happens when light and darkness both have opinions? How does the opinion of darkness grind away at those who are presenting the truth? Two equal opinions can get better if they are paired together to reveal the flaws in the other. In the case of a good opinion and an evil opinion, it comes down to the truth becoming more aware of the deception of evil. In other words, we learn how to respond to evil. As the Proverbs writer wrote, the iron of evil sharpens us to be more aware of how to expose evil rather than to accept it. Evil is designed to get you to accept deception without question. It usually uses a causal movement that is justice-oriented. These movements want to bring better equality to races, genders, and marginalized people. Yet, beneath all the righteous-sounding rhetoric is the real truth.

The Black Lives Matter movement is a perfect example of a hidden agenda that is in their platform. If you read their material you will quickly learn that equality is not about an ‘equal pay for equal work’ kind of cause, it is a cause of replacing our capitalist government for socialism. Black Lives Matter organizers are using race as a way to propagate their real agenda, and that is to fundamentally change America. Any form of socialism, they believe, will equalize everyone at the same level. The weak and the lazy will have the same status as those who are aggressive and productive. It will not be a government for the people by the people anymore, it will be a government that controls the people … period. That is the only way you will make socialism work … that is to control people; who they are, what they can do, and ultimately what they believe. The bottom line is simple … you kill off individual rights and substitute rights so that it becomes a ‘one size fits all’ world. This is appealing to young people because that is how they have been trained to think. Most of the movements of social justice are supported by children coming from middle-class white communities, but their opinions have been shaped by our left-leaning educational institutions.

Here is what is wrong, in my opinion, with all of it. God created us as individuals … morally, spiritually, and physically. He will hold the individual accountable for their behavior. In the world that is developing around us, the state will become God and all of us will serve it. The one size fits all will be mandated for society as a whole. We see that now with masks and the COVID-19 fear that is prevalent everywhere. “You are a risk to all of us when you don’t wear a mask” is the mantra chanted today. So, the ideology will be to conform to the control of those who know better than you do in how to live. Freedom is never talked about in these circles … it’s all about change and how change will make things better for all. In the past, it was all about ‘freedom’ and how freedom was the idea behind the ‘American Dream.’ Drive down most streets in large cities on a national holiday and you will see very few American flags flying on the front of homes … this is just a small indication that attitudes are changing.

Does my opinion matter? Not really, if it is not in step with that we hear every day in the media, in our schools, and even in our government. It’s true for all of us. Why? Because the Bible tells us that the world is getting ready to do a radical change and we are living in that change today. The old ways must change to pave the way for a new world order of global governance and global control. I’m convinced that the 666 mentioned in the Book of Revelation is as much about ideology as it is about controlling our economies. The world will eventually worship and admire a world leader as predicted in Biblical prophecy. How do we get ready? Keep your Bible in your heart and allow it to shape your mind in how you think. Don’t let the propaganda of culture trip you up and believe the lies it tells. Your first line of defense is the Lord, and the one who has your back is also the Lord. It is time to pray, prepare, and present the truth to a world that is fixated on the lies of the enemy. Remember, we are called to expose the lies of the darkness:

Ephesians 5 11Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.

Psalm 94:16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand for me against those who practice iniquity?

John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
