It was the Statesman Edmund Burke who said, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." It is a great quote, reminding us that involvement is essential in pushing back the darkness. Jesus said:

John 3:19 And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.

Evil is never passive, it is always on the move, and it changes tactics like a roaming lion, shifting to meet the desire of evil in devouring its prey. Evil is always aggressive, never neutral, nor does it retreat. Evil will shift to a positive status, if need be, to deceive people who like to accent on positive things. Not everything that is positive is godly, some positive ideas are rooted in evil. Take AI for example … today it’s a positive experience for most people because it is so useful for finding out information, but eventually it will control our lives. Another example would be in conservative politics which is mostly positive for conservatives, for the most part, until people like Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens question the validity of support for Israel, and people, through their influence, could be encouraged to become antisemitic. Recently, I wrote a Facebook post about practicing our faith, and not allowing evil to go unchecked in our society. Here is that post.

I have a colleague whose tag line is, ‘Study to learn, learn to do.’ The Apostle Paul said the same thing … “Practice what you have learned.” The big idea? Stop all the talking, and go do something more important than the daily devotions. These days are evil, and evil thrives when we do nothing with what we know is true … which is having faith in God. The Holy Spirit was given to us to guide and direct us to do God’s will. The question is, “How can I say it is God’s will to have faith, but do nothing with that faith?” The Apostle James said, “How can you show Me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you My faith by My good deeds.” The bottom line? Faith produces something that is seen. ~Larry Kutzler, Facebook Post

This post goes back to the Edmund Burke quote, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.” That is one of the deceptions I believe will prevail in the Last Days. Good men and women will get tired of the fight. Scripture talks about a great falling away:

2 Thessalonians 2:3 For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed—the one who brings destruction.

In some Bible versions, that rebellion is worded as ‘a great falling away.’ Will some people give up the fight against evil? Sure … it takes a man or woman of God who are sold out to God, without a fear of losing their life, their fortunes, or their reputation in staying in the fight. This is why we need to practice and grow in our faith now, today, so when the pressure comes, we will be ready, full of courage and faith to stand our ground against the flood of evil that will engulf the world.

Most ministries today are not preparing for what is to come. In the same way that the ‘Days of Noah’ were days of being unaware, we will be similar in our responses. (Jesus told us that would happen in Matthew Chapter 24.) The Scriptures outline the future of what is to happen,  but we are not getting the memos from those who are in the pulpits. Our emphasis is on the positive benefits of Christ and the Church, and not on what is coming to the earth as outlined by Scripture. It would be valuable to ask your Church leadership about what is coming, and are they preparing the Church to face it? Personally, I pray, “Lord, help us know and prepare in our hearts and minds for the shift that is coming to the entire world. Amen.”
