Our podcast series on The Fallen continues this week with more from our guest, Tov Rose, on the ramifications of when a Christian leader falls. Personally, I am the type of person who is always looking for causes or reasons for such moral failure. I have simply concluded that we have moved away from the meaning of serving God. We incorporate religious concepts and doctrines that replace the heart relationship with Jesus; thus, the power is gone to withstand the temptation of seduction. I do believe that the power of seduction is stronger than ever before because we are more vulnerable due to the many avenues of wrong things we are exposed to every day.

In Matthew 24, Jesus talks about the days of Noah. In Noah’s day the people were busying with their own lives, living without the knowledge of God … up until it started to rain. In other words, people were unaware of the danger they were in and had no clue something like a flood was about to happen. Jesus uses this history to say that people will be living in that same manner when He returns. People will be totally unaware of His return when it happens. Again, Jesus will return to rule from Jerusalem and will remove evil from the world. There will be upheaval throughout the world as He sets up His Kingdom, but His return will happen with most people being unaware … just like in Noah’s day.

To me that is telling about our culture, especially within the Church. Missionary/Evangelist Paul Walker has a trending video on YouTube where he asserts that we no longer fear God, and we are more conformed to the world than we are to Christ. He has strong words of warning for every Christian, hoping they will heed his message. If we are no longer watching and praying, keeping ourselves aware of His Second Coming, we will be unaware when it happens suddenly as predicted by Scripture.

As we assess why so many high-profile pastors and Christian leaders fall, is because they too have slipped away not being unaware of the day in which we live. Jesus warned that the days prior to His return will be seductive and full of deception. People are living to satisfy the appetites of the flesh, which is a simple but effective way to entice people away from what is more important.

Our podcast series is an important start to awaken ourselves to the signs of our day. Fallen leaders is a sign of what is to come, and many of us are unaware that these are signs of His return. God gave us the Prophecy of Scripture to keep us watching and praying, knowing that God’s Word will come true. Yet, our day keeps us busy living apart from the awareness of God’s shaking to get our attention. Tune in the continuation of the series, ‘The Fallen, Part 4’ this week.
