The Poison of Evil

Recently, I have been writing about evil. It’s not that I am fascinated with evil … it is because evil is cunning, aggressive, crafty, swift, and destructive. Evil is in government, goes to Church, lives in families, and is both rich and poor. The Prophet Isaiah tells us that evil is like the poison that comes from snakes and spiders … treacherous and hidden. Evil, Isaiah explains, is like spiders’ webs, spun everywhere to catch their prey. Then he says, “When evil is digested, it will be fatal.” When we tolerate evil, or play with evil, we crack the eggs that will hatch a viper … a dangerous predator. These snakes and spiders are violent … their poisonous trademark is clearly found in misery, and the results are destructive.
These words from the Prophet Isaiah describe evil’s end game which is to murder its victims. Dangerous snakes and spiders strike quickly from unseen places and their venom will kill. Americans are tolerant with co-mingling with poison, as they are anesthetized by the venom of ungodly ideology, crass speech filled with hate, and a hatred for God. The antidote for this poison is always in the message of Jesus, who defeated evil and judged evil on the Cross. Remember, evil is a poisonous snake, with venom that kills.
My Point
As it has been said for years, discernment among many Christians is lost due to their fondness for the culture. Culture is no friend to the family, yet many believers emulate the patterns of crass language and become fans of entertainment that is unhealthy in content and image. There are entertainers who think they have a right to be heard and seen because of their celebrity status, and stand for causes like abortion that are destructive to the social fabric of the family. This statement makes the case for me … why discernment must be rediscovered by the Church:
We have all suspected that actors and actresses are 90% liberal. That number is high, but one study has found that 97% of all high school teachers and 99% of health teachers are liberal with the overall percentage being 87% who vote for Democrats and 13% for Republicans. It’s been said that “Liberalism is a mental disorder.” That may go too far, but I personally believe that liberal (actually progressive) ideas may be well-intentioned, but they are detrimental to our traditional American values and the principles of individual freedom found in our Constitution that have made our country great. ~Frank Thiboutot Cumberland
We lose the war because we quit the fight. It was people like atheist Madalyn Murry O’Hair and the Supreme Court who took prayer out of schools. Even the 1973 Roe vs Wade decision that gave women the right to have abortions, was based upon the case of Roe, who never did get an abortion, she went full term and gave her baby up for adoption. By the time the Supreme Court issued its decision establishing abortion rights, Roe, (real name Norma McCorvey) her pregnancy had progressed to a point where she no longer sought abortion. Instead, she proceeded with the pregnancy and placed her child up for adoption. Thus, the case that transformed abortion access nationwide was ultimately resolved after the immediate circumstances prompting the lawsuit had been resolved through adoption rather than abortion. We could cite all kinds of examples where the public was misled by circumstances no one ever knew. This goes back to the Prophet Isaiah’s point of hatching viper eggs … not knowing the full impact of what evil will do when allowed to do it.
The recent ICE debates among Christians are another example of evil misdirecting the narrative to support illegal immigrants. There may have been abuses by ICE, but to me, the support the anti-ICE supporters got from the Church was unconscionable. The Roman Empire was much worse in abuse than the US government, and the Apostle Paul tells us to obey the authorities over us. One last comment about the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), is an evil movement, 100,000 strong that is designed to convert America’s freedom into Socialism. Everyone I have ever read who is an expert on Socialism says that it is only one step away from the total control of Communism. Wake up America … no one succeeds under these types of government, no one. They are vipers’ eggs, and we will see it’s evil come to fruition in New York City.
Final Word
I know people will disagree with me on some of what I write here, but it is my opinion based upon what I read in the Word of God. The Prophet Isaiah had a warning to Israel because she was playing with poison without giving one thought of how it would affect their society. Ultimately, we know Israel drifted from God, became an idolatrous nation, and lost their footing with God, only to be judged severely. America’s tolerance of poisonous ideas, lifestyles, and laws will bring us down that same path. It is time for the Church to rethink its emphasis and return to a discerning heart governed by God’s Word.
